Benefits Of Catholic Church Teachings

By Della Monroe

Across the nation, the houses of worship are faced with problems of declining numbers. The attendance is declining at a very fast pace. This is due to changing cultural standards, apathy among the faithful and bad influence among the youth. The places of worship are working to ensure they attract and retain members. There are so many benefits of attending mass and people do not know about them. The place of worship is the ideal place for those interested in living a holy life. Consider the following factors to learn about Catholic Church teachings and the importance of attending church.

The first reason is that Jesus said so. This is depicted in different books of the bible. It was His custom to attend church and urged others, even if they are sinners, to go to cathedrals. It is also part of obeying the Ten Commandments. One of the Ten Commandments is to keep the Sabbath day holy.

Going to church is also a good habit. Some people have stopped attending Sunday services. They should be encouraged by their fellow members to attend the service and participate in certain activities. There are many temptations not to go. For example, there are lots of activities to do on a Sunday morning, however, choose to start with the church then come back later to the other chores. Know how to prioritize.

Attending a house of worship is also a good example. When people visit the house of worship every Sunday, they are setting a positive example for the family members and friends. People will notice the commitment and will be inspired to do the same. People who make positive contributions in their daily lives are encouraging others who are struggling with bad habits. Thus, attend the house of worship to set an example.

Going for sermons and worshiping with fellow people is good for spiritual nourishment. At times people faith may be tested, and they will need to remain strong. Some people may recommend that you read the bible, but at times, reading the bible may not be enough. Consider attending sermons as they give a better perspective of what is written in the bible. The sessions also allow for worship.

It also boosts ones self-esteem. Going to places of worship allows one to grow. One is able to reflect on their thoughts and actions. The theological teachings act as guides on how they act and how they handle situations. The teachings are geared towards individual behavior. If one has something affecting them, they can solve their emotional issues based on a similar situation portrayed in the bible. One can learn a lot from the parable and other wise sayings. A preacher helps the congregation understand parts of the bible.

The church provides a good support system for the public. It is composed of preachers, counselors, and experts in various fields. The experts can help those who have problems without charging them. The counselors can counsel those who experience trauma or problems. The preachers can offer help through teaching the word of God. This is an all-round support system.

Do not go just for the sake. Make it a habit to attend each service. If you make it a priority, it will become easier, as you will not struggle to choose what to do come Sunday morning. There will be things to attend to but make it a habit.
