Fact Findings On Arabs In The US

America is one country that contains people from various backgrounds. In fact, most of the cities and towns are mainly referred to as cosmopolitan. Travelling back in time, it was discovered that early settlers mainly came from Europe among many other nations. Slowly, they became accustomed to living with each other and that is quite evident in the present day. In this particular case, the main focus is on Arabs in the US.

It is believed that Arabs are increasing in number as time goes by. However, it is not clearly how many they are in numbers hence it has sparked a big debate. According to the US census bureau, it was reported that there was a presence of 1.8 million inhabitants from this common origin. This translates to a 47% increase in population size by the year 2000. Furthermore, Arab American Institute believes that they are more likely to increase in number in the next forthcoming years.

It is believed that native Arab countries are mainly 22. Just like an African or Asian country, these countries have their own ways of living. It is characterized by unique political ideologies, cultural practices and religious backgrounds. Even though Arabs are thought to be Muslim, most of them are converting to Christianity and other denominations.

It is for a fact that most professions are filled with people from Arabian origin. Take for instance, many doctors, engineers, lawyers and other hardworking individuals comprises of Arab immigrants. Bottom line is migration of Arabs into America is perceived to be great phenomenon.

It is important to mention the countries that are associated with these people. These countries comprise of Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt and Syria. It is evident that people from these backgrounds are distributed all over the ten states within the US. Most of them have acquired citizenship by birth and naturalization.

If one is keen enough, they cannot fail to notice that education sector in the US is very good. That is why all the citizens as well as other international students are encouraged to enroll for their studies since it has become a basic need. An analysis conducted reveals that most of them have completed their high school education by the time they hit puberty. Also, there quite a number who are Bachelors and Post graduate degree holders.

65% of Arab Americans make up the total of people within the labor force. They are specialized in key areas such as managerial, administrative, sales and other professional fields. Of the total population, only 12% work for the government while 85% work in the private sector. In addition, median income for Arab American is at $56,331. When doing a comparison for other household within the US average income should be at $51,369. This indicates that many of them are living below their means.

Arab Americans keep making American history by participating in various national projects with an aim of contributing to the growth of the economy. They actively take part in educating themselves and applying for different jobs within the government and private sector. Even though many of their native countries are war torn, the citizens are very responsible and try as much as they can be on the right side of the law. This information becomes enlightening for people looking to have a better understanding of this community.
