Using A Jewish And Christian Wedding Rabbi

By Helen Reed

It is seen that more and more the need for this type of person is required when one of the bridal couple is Jewish. Using a Jewish and Christian wedding Rabbi is the answer when this is the case, especially should one want this to be the flavour of the wedding itself. This is a growing requirement as congregations intermingle and where one of the couple finds their life mate.

Judaism is not a religion that seeks out to convert other dominations into its faith. It is a hard and arduous process in becoming a Jew and can take years before one is recognised as one. At times, one of the couple will insist on this and the road to becoming one is embarked upon.

The need for a different flavour at a wedding of this nature is required especially in taking into consideration that many of the guests will be of this faith and way of life. It is with this in mind that a Beth Din, a court of law, is consulted as to what may be done and what may not be at a celebration of this nature. If food is going to be served then one will want to ensure that it is Kosher.

If one wants to be wed in this nature then there are other considerations to take into account for that matter. For one, it is best to ensure that the food is kosher and meets up to kashrut conditions as stipulated by the local Beth Din. A mashgiach will also be required to ensure that all kashrut standards are met during the celebration.

This person will have to be paid for work done so this should be budgeted for accordingly. This person is Shomrei Shabbos meaning that they keep the Sabbath and its laws so accordingly, the wedding date is important as to not fall on this day in the calendar.

A chuppah or bridal canopy is customarily used at functions such as this. It is a shawl that is extended by four poles that is held above the bride and groom. It is a magical moment enjoyed by all and with the aid of best friends and family; this is a must for occasions such as these.

There are many other customs that can be incorporated into this special day. The unveiling of the bride is another custom that is practiced. This is when the groom checks that the bride to be is really the one he has chosen.

All in all, it is a great way to have this function and a unique one at that which people will talk about forever. List all that is needed to know and work towards the day with glowing satisfaction. It is a momentous day and if prepared properly, will be enjoyed by all those who will be attending it be they non Jews or Jewish people themselves.
