By Peter Estenoz

Key West Florida is one of the great places to hold a low key wedding ceremony that is both romantic and intimate and also to go for a honeymoon. It is a warm place to escape to during winter and has many romantic locations where a great small wedding can be held. Couples are offered many deals here with most going for the all inclusive that takes care of the ceremony together with the celebrations and honeymoon.

First things first, when planning for a ceremony here, there are some legal matters that have to be taken care of first. A marriage license should be issued to the couple by Monroe County or any other county in the state of Florida. To obtain this license, a photo identification is a must. It not a must though that the couple should be from Florida but those that reside there, will have to wait for their license for a period of 3 days and valid for 60 days.

Couples are given the choice to choose if they would like to have a traditional or non traditional location for their nuptials. The traditional locations include churches, beaches, gardens or public parks. Underwater ceremonies fall under the non traditional locations.

The underwater experience is made possible by a chartered diving company that can make arrangements a Gulf of Mexico crystal blue waters experience. Weddings can also take place on a beautiful white sandy beach surrounded by tropical palm trees.

An intimate dinner on a romantic evening can be arranged for those that prefer this to having a huge after ceremony party. These dinners are offered in varying prices and styles. As part of their menu, many restaurants offer Cuban or Caribbean dishes as well as fresh sea food. Couples are accorded special treatment is they are still in their wedding attire when enjoying their dinner. Another option offered on a private beach is the beach chair cerebration and there is also a combo of both boat and limousine rides available.

It is highly possible that those who go there to elope will find themselves sticking around longer than a few days for the honeymoon. There is quite a wide range of activities to enjoy there, from shared spa experiences to underwater adventures. Newlyweds also have the option to tour the natural history museum as well as the Crane museum over on Marathon Key. From both, visitors can view the natural surroundings with the Crane resting on the grounds where an ancient Indian village used to be.

Couples that have been dreaming of one day swimming with dolphins can do so at the dolphin research center. This place also has secluded spots where couples can go via ferry to just lay back and have a relaxing moment. Among the things that are covered at Key West, Florida are body massages, luxurious accommodations and gourmet dining.
