The Many Holiday Fundraiser Ideas

By Ida Dorsey

There are quite a few people who enjoy doing their own decorations and other creative events whenever Thanksgiving or Christmas season rolls around. This is one reason why holiday fundraiser ideas are necessary to these individuals and quite a few others.

Americans are very creative people who know exactly how to generate funding in a time of crises. Sometimes they will come up with great ideas that are really creative and fun to participate in. It is not unusual to find these people doing a spelling bee, bake sale, silent auction, talent show, yard sell or night in jail contest.

Every individual living within a small Georgia town took the time to bake cakes, pies, cookies and other goodies that were really tasty. After the baking was done these creative people took all of their treats to city hall. These items were placed upon several tables located in this very large and beautiful building. Throughout the day people would come into this grand place to purchase some of the delicious sweets that were readily available.

The money obtained was used to help the poor adult individuals purchase Christmas presents for their children. Elsewhere in the world some people decided to put on a talent show after a family had lost all of their belongings in a horrible fire. Everyone who entered into this event had to pay a five dollar fee to be a part of the spectacular show. It was also understood that no individual would win any type of prize since the money obtained would help the needy family.

It was great that a young girl organized an adult spelling bee contest before the Christmas holidays. All of the students were given a certain amount of tickets to sell to the residents. Once this event was over she would have a ton of cash to give to the local charity organization in town. These people would then purchase all types of toys and clothes for the children who lived within the shelters.

People who loved giving money to charity did not mind going to jail for one night. During this event every person would have a member of their family arrested and taken to jail. The unfortunate prisoner would have to wait a few hours before their loved one could bail them out. This event is strictly done for charity and all of the proceedings are given to the homeless shelters that are around.

Whenever people place furniture, jewelry, paintings and other items on display within a town hall they will more than likely be auctioned off. A silent auction is always an excellent way for people to raise money for others who really need financial assistance. Many shopping malls will also host gift wrapping contests in order to generate funds.

Everyone entering this event is charged a small fee which is given to the Toys For Tots Foundation. Very entertaining girls who are trying to raise money to help needy children during the Christmas season will often create a kissing booth at their college.
