Racial Equality Shirts Spread A Positive Message

By Gary Long

These days, there are many causes worth fighting for. The desire to leave peacefully in a community tops many lists of people who find themselves shunned from society. In other words, there are individuals who want for the world to see them for who they are and not be judged by popular opinion. It is not uncommon for a person to form their own organization that works with local leaders and others to make this happen. However, funds can play a big role in getting the right kind of attention. When a budget is small, good ideas to earn more include having a bake sale, car wash, or selling racial equality shirts with a strong message.

Back in the late 1960s through the 1970s, an image of a black fist made a strong statement about the civil rights movement among minorities at the time. Although this period brought many sad social and political events, along with many controversial moments, it was a time when people who were once oppressed began to have a voice. They used the media and other resources to let everyone know that their people were worthy of respect by authority and others in a position of power.

Racial unity is more than verbalizing pride about a certain community. Those who are part of a movement will always look for ways to make things equal so that others who are less fortunate will have a better quality of life. This means getting technological advancements over to those who may behind the times or teaching people new methods of everyday automation.

These days, the desire for racial equality is just as great as it was half of a century ago. While relationships have changed, some issues still remain the same. These range from breaking the glass ceiling to seeking fair treatment by law enforcement. Although there are more mediums to express a need for change, it seems there are so many movements going on.

Shirts may depict images that reflect every event that has taken place or use a visual that is a symbol of peace. Sometimes all it takes is a simple slogan that will catch on and make people talk more about doing something positive in their community. No longer just a fashion trend, simple pieces of clothing can bring the right kind of influence.

If an organization has its own venue to sell shirts and other wearables, this is a great start. An idea to consider is an event where members can participate in selling goods as a way to raise money. However, it may be beneficial to rent booth space at a related live event that has a lot of foot traffic.

The great thing about shirts then and now are the variety that is available at a low price. At one time, if a person wanted to order customized shirts for their organization, white was the only option unless they wanted to spend extra on color. These days, not only can anyone buy primary and secondary color tee shirts at a low price but popular colors like black and purple are available.

While it can take a minute to get a selling strategy that works, the best part for many organizations is connecting to new people. Sometimes, a prospect wants to get acquainted before making a purchase or giving a donation. Whatever the connect, it can place an organization closer to reaching its financial goal or at least spreading a positive word.
