A program for the injured marines ensures that they get the best medical assistance in hospitals located in different states. The medical centers are in Maryland, Texas, Washington and Virginia, among other cities. There is a mentor-ship program for injured marines and those transitioning called Marine-4life.
Youth programs target the younger generation who will become future marines. Their activities include programs that instill the core values of marines in the young generation. High and elementary school students have the physical fitness program which runs alongside the Boy Scouts of America. There is a scholarship fund for those interested in education as well as the toys for tots initiative.
Veteran benefits are a major concern for MCL with a lot of activities in this regard. The team works on all legislation that touch on marines or the military. The organization offers a platform for veterans to contribute in debates about national issues. Veterans Service Officer Program handles claims by marines in active services. Members volunteer to work in VA hospitals and clinics on regular basis.
The honor and fun society of the MCL is the Military Order of the Devil Dogs. This wing honors outstanding work by its members. There is an auxiliary wing, as well, that hopes to promote the interests of Marines and their dependents. This group advocates for patriotism by encouraging citizens and members to remain faithful to the American institutions.
