How To Plan Bay Area LGBTQ Weddings That Will Suit Any Budget Or Style

By Scott Hamilton

If you are living in the Bay area and you want to get married you have many amazing options to choose from. Bay area LGBTQ weddings can be meaningful and romantic. Part of what makes them so stunning is the beautiful surroundings that can be easy to find in this part of the country. Whether you want to marry your partner in a laid back, relaxed setting or you want a more formal event, here are some things to think about when you are planning your wedding.

You really need to decide what your budget is going to be before you do any planning. The last thing you want is to fall in love with a beautiful location or reception space only to find out that it will end up costing more than you can spend. Prioritize what you will be spending your budget on. Is your location most important or do you want to allocate funds to pay for what you will be wearing that day as well.

While many people love the idea of a formal celebration, you shouldn't be stressed out if you would rather plan a more casual ceremony. Only you know which options will best reflect you and your partner as a couple. Once you have an idea about the kind of celebration you want you can then start looking at venues that support your vision.

One of the most important things to do is to set the date of your celebration. You may want to consider getting married on a day other than a Saturday. This may give you more options when it comes to picking your ceremony and reception venues and it may be a way for you to get the most out of your budget.

Do you have a lot of guests coming from out of town? If so, you might want to consider planning a multi-day event, especially if many of them are not familiar with the Bay Area. It can be nice for your guests to have multiple activities to participate in other than the wedding itself and can really make your event feel like a joyous holiday.

While some people love the idea of a huge celebration, your wedding ceremony and reception don't have to be if that isn't what you want. An increasing number of couples are making the choice to only have a few people present to witness their vows. Some will choose to have a larger number people at their reception or have a separate party afterwards to celebrate their union.

If you have a busy career and are finding the idea of planning a wedding to be overwhelming, you may want to hire an LGBTQ friendly wedding planner. Choose one that you connect with on a personal level as well as a professional one in order to make sure that you get the celebration of your dreams. You can find planners online. If you hate the idea of meeting someone blind, you may want to ask other couples who have wed recently who they used.

Of course, if you don't give yourself enough time to plan, it will definitely feel more stressful. If you give yourself more time to plan things and are organized you can space out your tasks and this will make the planning process much more relaxed and laid back.
