If You're Tired Of Dating, Try The Speed Dating LA Singles Love

By Joanna Walsh

If you're a single man or woman looking for that perfect match, you probably know already just how difficult it can be. The world is so busy and many people are simply looking for one-night stands or more casual encounters. The pressure of the search can just be too much for many singles. If that sounds like you, don't lose hope. You might just benefit from trying the speed dating LA singles are finding so helpful in their search for love.

Speed dating is not a completely new concept, of course. It's even been featured in several television shows and movies. For most singles, however, the idea of having a series of multiple mini-dates in rapid succession can sound a little odd. In practice, however, its success rate is far greater than one might first guess.

First of all, you need to know that security and safety are of the utmost importance. Personal contact information is kept anonymous until people express an interest in sharing. That helps to protect every participant from being harassed in any way by someone they've shown no interest in.

From start to finish, the process is easy to navigate. The participants arrive at a designated event spot that is supervised by professional hosts. One man and one woman are seated at each table in the room, facing one another. Once the host rings the bell, a five-minute date begins.

That five minutes is all the time that each couple has to get to know one another or decide that they have no interest in knowing the person. They generally use this time to ask each other questions or share personal details. Of course, many just sit and stare, particularly if they know right away that there is no attraction. Once the five minutes conclude, the signal for the next date is given and each man moves to another table. That process repeats until every man and woman have sat together for the allotted five minute date period.

At the end of the night, participants are given match cards, and they mark down which of the dates they liked the most. The hosts go through the cards and find the men and women who picked one another. Those "couples" then receive their favorite person's contact information the next day, and may choose to pursue dates outside of that controlled environment if they so desire.

Various forms of demographic separations are used to group singles together for this process, with the most common being age. That puts people in their twenties, thirties, or forties with one another, presumably to provide a greater opportunity for common life experiences and interests.

Yes, it's a bit quirky and may seem somewhat silly at first glance. The fact is, however, that singles who have participated in speed date meetings have reported almost uniform satisfaction with the results they've achieved. Many have even gone on to experience long-term serious relationships with people they met at this type of event, a fact that only serves to demonstrate the tremendous possibilities this dating method can offer in any single's life.
