By Jerri Perry

Human beings have evolved over the years form a very simple being into a very complex creature. The communication channels that were initially being used include the writing on the caves walls, smoke signals and decoded manuscripts. These have slowly changed over the years to what we have in the modern world. The communication methods in use define how people will interact with others. The social networks in South Africa are built upon the simple communication channels. In some cases, the networks have evolved into very complex platforms.

Human beings communicate for a number of reasons. The communication channels are used to pass special message from one person to another. The channels are built in such a way that the message is not also during the transmissions. Communication acts as a pillar of interacting with a couple of people with the same interests. This is where the relationship between interactions and communications come in.

Interaction platforms are based on the communication channels. People interact as they communicate. Interactions are based on interests. People interact with like-minded friends. Through the various circles, they are able to share various types of information. For some, the circles are foundation of various business relationships. Others meet in these circles and fall in love. This happens especially when people of the opposite gender have very common traits. They develop special feelings for each other. This is what lays the foundation for long term relationships.

The early man used very simple tools and mechanisms for communication with others. Initially, they used to write special symbols on the walls of the caves where they lived. The symbols and the figures relayed very special messages to the intended parties. The wall writings were replaced by the decoded manuscripts that could be sent from one location to another relaying various messages.

The manuscript technology laid the foundation for the telephony industry. Initially these phones introduced into the various markets could only handle a few applications. These phones were used for making phone calls and sending a couple of messages to other people. Their internal organization could not support advanced features. They laid the foundation for the modern telecommunication industry.

The evolution of mobile phones has gone through a number of states too. This has created very complicated gadgets that can be used for multiple operations. The modern phones can accommodate very many applications. This means that they can be used for making video calls and sending multiple texts.

The internet has changed the lives of many people. It has affected how people communicate and transmit information. The interaction platforms have also increased with the increase in the internet use. There are many websites that support the interaction platforms. People can meet newer friends over the internet as well as support the old circles of friends.

The social networks in South Africa have received a boost from the internet use. The use of the internet has eliminated the barriers associated with geographical demarcations. This means that the interactions can now be done of global scale. The conversion of the interactions platforms into a global village has made life easier.
