Experience A Wild At Heart Boot Camp Poconos

By Tanisha Berg

This type of boot camp is one of a different kind. It does have certain physical activities but the main purpose is to change hearts. A wild at heart boot camp Poconos is attended only by men and gives them the opportunity to discover a new sense of identity. They are freed from the pressure of what they ought to and should do and discover what God wants for them in all its fullness. As a result of this, they go back to the every day situations transformed and able to live life with new passion.

These camps are held in many different venues all over the world and the settings are chosen for their beauty and solitude. It is in a setting like this that the men are able to let down their guard and discover what God has for them. They have time for intimacy with God and experience deep fellowship with other men, often making new friends.

Sessions are held where the men are exposed to a vision of the fullness of what God intends for them. Many of them feel drained from carrying so much responsibility and are not living life the way it should be lived. They have an opportunity to recover their passion for living by reaching deep into their hearts and discovering their masculine soul.

These camps began as a result of a book written by John Eldredge addressing this need for men to rediscover their true identities in God. Part of this is the need for adventure. This often rates highly when men talk about what they have enjoyed most in their lives. Outdoor activities like hiking and horse riding are offered for this reason.

Men often receive a revelation for the first time about their warrior side. Jesus confronted culture, religion and tradition and they are also meant to fight the fight of faith as warriors. They receive a renewed sense of purpose.

The tools given to men at these retreats can last a lifetime. Many of them experience deep restoration and healing from wounds they have lived with for years. This healing means they are able to find life worth living once more and they recover their passion. They also approach their relationships in a different way.

Men report that their wives often see great changes in them after a camp. They have a new sense of identity and strength and their wives often respond to this. Men who do not yet have a relationship are encouraged to fight for one and then love the woman fully and passionately as Christ loved the church.

Camps like this takes men away from their every day responsibilities. This allows them the time and space to reconnect with the deep desires of their hearts. They experience healing and are freed to experience a new spiritual vitality. Instead of simply being what others expect them to be, they begin to discover what God has for them as men and live with all their hearts.
