When one attends a formal meeting or invites guests for dinner they will need to follow the guides and procedures needed in the dining. These rules give a good sign of good manners that a person has. There are a few guidelines about the etiquette in a fine restaurant.

Fine dining restaurants are strict about dress code. Most of this meetings held are formal so this makes formal dressing the most accepted. When you are not sure about the dress code of a particular restaurant it is good to call the establishment. This will give the confidence needed when going to that particular event.

When dining in fine restaurants the table set up is different from the regular restaurants. They are set with silverware and table napkins. You use the silverware with the type of meal you are having. For instance meat knives are set on the right side. Knives forks and spoons are the main silver ware and their function varies. Doing a little study on how they are used will add your confidence in using them.

It is good to treat the persons serving you in the right manner. Be kind and polite when addressing them. Using the word please when placing a request and thank you at a request granted will enhance a good environment between the host and the guest. Do not shout when complaining for this will inconvenience the other people. Let any problem you may have be known by the service person in a polite way. Always give a tip to the people serving you.

Table manners are well applied during eating time. Avoid chewing with your mouth open. This might makes the other people feel disgusted. Avoid talking when there is food in the mouth. Make use of the cutlery set on the table to avoid using your hands to eat. Follow the pace of the other guests when eating. Do not eat too fast or too slow. Try to finish eating along the others.

Excuse yourself any time you want to go visit the washrooms. Leaving the table without excusing yourself will bring a bad impression. Do not blow your nose in the dining. It is good to leave the table and do it in the rest rooms. Use the napkin anytime you want to cough or sneeze.

The common rules in dining areas are avoiding noise. These noises include talking in a loud voice and cell phone ringing mode being loud among others. When making reservations it is good to stay in time. This means arriving a bit early. Smoking is not allowed in dining places. If the dinner is meant to discuss business it is good to place the meeting materials under the chair until the time to talk about it is arrived.
