Many People Wonder Will The Antichrist Be A Muslim

By Angela Briggs

Will the Antichrist be a Muslim is a question that has been asked by numerous individuals over the years. People think this is the case for a variety of reasons. Some find logic in this theory because of the hatred many Muslims have for Christians, as evidenced in their writings. Obviously, based on his name alone, the anti-christ has this same hatred for those who embrace Christianity.

Certain religions are peaceloving, and some individuals have claimed that Muslims follow a religion of peace. However, in writings such as the Koran, it clearly states that they have a definite "convert you or kill you" attitude toward those of other religions. Many believe that this is proof that the religion Muslims follow is not one of peace.

The hatred directed to Jews by Muslims also has a lengthy and complex history. Numerous theologians state that this issue dates back to Abraham's sons, Ishmael and Isaac, who were born of his concubine and Sarah his wife, respectively. The Bible is clear that Jews in specific are targeted by the antichrist, and this pattern is also quite obvious in today's modern world.

Mohammed is credited with fueling this immense hatred against the Jewish race. He claimed that Allah commanded him to treat Jews as if they were evil. Many of his followers embraced this ideology. Professors and historians state that this hatred may simply be due to the fact that the Jewish race does not accept Mohammed as their ruler. Of course, Christians worship Jesus, and therefore have rejected Mohammed as well. For this reason, numerous men and women believe that the antichrist is a Muslim.

Mohammed also claimed that the Jewish race in general was made up of greedy individuals. Christians on the other hand state that Jews are God's chosen race, and for this reason have favor with God above those from other ethnic backgrounds. Mohammed's theory about Jews being selfish individuals is strange, as history has proven that in his early days, Mohammed himself directed his followers to raid caravans and plunder villages to gather spoils in the name of Allah. He reportedly retained 20 percent of these confiscated goods and money for himself.

Additionally, Islam is a religion that promotes violence. This cannot be denied if one simply reads the Koran. For example, it clearly states in part of the Koran, specifically Sura 9:5, that "idolaters" should be slain wherever they are found. Obviously, idolaters are considered to be those who do not believe in the God of Islam. This is likely what leads many people to believe that the Antichrist may be a Muslim.

Those who have studied eschatology do not always agree about end time events. Some believe that an Antichrist who seems like an All-American individual will appear and deceive virtually everyone. Others believe that his sinister motives will be obvious, and therefore numerous individuals will not be fooled. In the Bible we find that God says this person would attempt to deceive even the "elect" if it were possible.

Those wondering will the Antichrist be a Muslim will likely not have an answer to their question until the end-time events actually begin to unfold. Many individuals think that we are very close to the end times, while others think the rapture and subsequent tribulation are many years away. Only time will tell who is correct and from where this individual will actually emerge.
